MR. LEMUEL D. WILLIAMS was born January 2, 1916 in Haywood County, Brownsville, Tenn. to the late Dennis Williams and Luella (Short) Williams.
He confessed religion at an early age and joined Prospect C.M.E. Church, in Brownsville, Tenn. He was joined in holy matrimony to Elnora Fouse, in 1936. To this union was born one child, a son.
He came to St. Louis in 1943. He joined Cleaves Temple under Rev. E. L. Buggs. He was a Christian. He married Ruth Turner in 1951. (They were divorced after about 10 years)
God called him home January 11, 1974 at 5:45 am. He leaves to mourn, a devoted son, Nathaniel Williams of Chicago, Ill. one daughter-in-law; four grandchildren, one step daughter, six brothers, five sisters, four sisters-in-law; two brothers in-law, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. (The extra grandchild is from his second wife, Ruth Turner, who had a daughter, listed as his step daughter here.)
